Pepper grows along climbing vines in clusters. Black pepper is made by harvesting the green peppercorns before they are ripe. These are then dried in the sun for several days. These green peppercorns start to get a wrinkled appearance and get their final colour, becoming black peppercorns. The peppercorns are then sorted before they are ground.
This pepper is very finely ground so that it can be easily used in cooking.
