Sesame Seeds

Sesame seeds are a very popular ingredient in Asia and the Middle East. Grown on dense plants, the seeds are naturally released after being dried in their pods. In its natural form, the flavour of sesame seeds is very subtle. Heat them up in a frying pan for just three minutes to release their full flavour. They are a great way of enhancing salads and seasoning woks and tagines. They are also used to make Chinese nougat and North-African and Middle-Eastern pastries, as well as some breads or brioches.
