A true local product, the Albert Ménès Fig Jam is made exclusively with figs from Solliès-Pont in the Var. A specific microclimate, maximum sunshine and traditions handed down over several generations give it its unique, acidic and sweet taste. Our figs come from the same orchards as the famous figs that obtained the PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) “Figue de Solliès” in 2011. The Solliès-Pont fig is a purple fig of the variety Bourjassotte noire that has a red flesh. It is sweet and juicy, which makes it one of the tastiest varieties. Figs are harvested at full maturity in September, when they are tastiest.
This jam can be eaten on toast for breakfast, but can also be used as a chutney for cheeses, terrines or foie gras.
INGREDIENTS: Figs from Provence, cane sugar, gelling agent, pectins, acidifier: citric acid.
