WOODY - STRENGTH 5 - STRONG Peppercorns grow along climbing vines in clusters. Black pepper is made by harvesting the green peppercorns before they are ripe. These are then dried in the sun for several days. These green peppercorns start to get a wrinkled appearance and get their final colour, becoming black peppercorns. The peppercorns are then sorted and graded. The powerful flavour of the black peppercorns can be brought out by grinding them at the last minute.
This pepper has a powerful and instant spicy kick to it, whilst its aroma remains quite subtle. It is perfect for everyday use to season grilled and barbecued meats.
