Shelled Roman Hazelnuts

The hazelnut tree, a survivor of the secondary era, is said to be 70 million years old. Native to Asia Minor, it was once associated with various magical virtues. Harvested in the region of Lazio, and especially on the hills north of Rome, this Roman variety is recognised by chocolatiers and pastry chefs for its magnificent hazelnuts with a fruity taste.
Used to decorate pastries, these hazelnuts will delight children at snack time, as well as their parents. They can also be used to decorate dishes or enjoyed on their own as a gourmet snack at any time of day.
