Traces of apricots were found in Armenian remains dating from the 6th century BC, but the first text mentioning them is Chinese and dates back 4,000 years. The apricot tree was probably domesticated in Central Asia. It is believed to be partly responsible for the incredible longevity of the Hunza people in northern Pakistan, the longest-lived in the world. Either dried or fresh, apricots are an excellent source of potassium, iron and beta carotene, which our bodies transform into vitamin A. These soft apricots are chosen for their melt-in-the-mouth texture and slightly tangy taste.
Tender and ready to use, they add a delicious sweet-and-sour note to any chicken or duck dish. Perfect for baking, they can also be enjoyed on their own at any time of day.
INGREDIENTS: dried apricots, water, antioxidant: sulphur dioxide (SULPHITES). Maximum moisture content: 30% POSSIBLE PRESENCE OF STONES.
